This piece is hand made in a black clay body featuring delicate porcelain details. It was created at a similar time to my Pygmy Hippo that was featured on The Pottery Throw Down a good few years ago. A somewhat experimental piece. In photographing it I recalled why I was drawn to these animals. It featured oxide, slip and glaze techniques. .
