Wonderful Two day Animal Sculpture workshop with Jack Durling. The Clay Studio was a fantastic setting. It’s a friendly, inspiring, bright, spacious and excellently equipped to work in. I’d highly recommend the whole experience to anyone.”

Karen B. The Clay Studio, Uckfield 2025.

“I really enjoyed the course. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your kind encouragement. I really didn’t think I would be able to make something, but I did! I highly Recommend your courses to any student beginner or more advanced xx” – Dani, Aylesford Pottery School Student 2025.

“Really enjoyed the course Jack, thank you. Looking forward to putting on the final touches of my dog sculpture!” Sally Aylesford Pottery School Student 2025.

“Connecting with likeminded individuals, getting fabulous advice and tuition from Jack. Having access to the facilities and being able to stay late” – West Dean Student 2025

“An environment that encouraged exploration and challenge in the learning process, in a geographical location that was gently inspirational, among like-minded people. With staff and tutors who were approachable, cheerful and helpful.” – West Dean Student 2025

“The tuition and the patience and care of the tutor” – West Dean Student 2024

“The best thing I found here is that you make sculptures with slab technique, very amazing. Second, the quality of your clay is great, which makes it easy to work with. Your way of teaching and explaining is very good. As you understand the feelings of the student and solve them immediately. Wonderful experience. Thank you very much. I will now be able to teach a new way to the students of the institute (in which I work). Also, I will be able to teach them what work is done on texture and how beautiful things are made.” – West Dean Student 2023

“Energising & informative lessons.” – West Dean Student 2023

“He is such a talented guy. He is also a stunning teacher, I was lucky enough to be one of his course’s this year. If you get a chance to go learn from this lovely creative and friendly soul, You won’t regret it. Mary, West Street Potters Student 2025.

Public Art Other Projects

“I love this stunning piece of artwork, the colours and style are so beautiful and so well put together it draws you in for a closer look. It really complements our magnificent 450 acre park and being so close to the café and Learning Space we know it will be enjoyed by thousands of visitors.

“One of our key aims is to make Maidstone a thriving place with a vibrant leisure and culture offer which is enjoyed by residents and attractive to visitors and this artwork certainly does that.” - Councillor Claudine Russell, Maidstone Shared Memories Mural, 2023
